Director education is an essential component of good governance and effective compliance practices for financial institutions. It increases the likelihood of retaining good directors, attracting more candidates, and more highly skilled candidates, to serve on the boards of banks and instilling more confidence on the part of regulators and shareholders.

Auburn's 10th annual Bank Directors' College provides training for those considering becoming a bank director, new directors, long-standing directors, de novo bank directors, as well as CEOs and Senior Bank Officers -- Benefits of attending are:

This 1½ day program will consist of 8 hours of instruction by nationally recognized experts. This executive education program is hosted by the Raymond J. Harbert College of Business at Auburn University and will include faculty and speakers with a mix of academics, professionals, regulators and experienced corporate directors. This event is the perfect way for directors and senior management to come to grips with the shifting ground of risk in banking, the economic environment and the reality of bank safety and soundness. It's also an occasion to compare notes and experiences with other community bank directors.

The conference will be held at The Hotel at Auburn University & Dixon Conference Center.

There will also be a reception and dinner at 5:30 pm Thursday night.
